STARCHES BY TYPE OF PRODUCTS (Ton/year)

Although Native Starches continue leading the figures, an observation must be made regarding the increase in different types of modified starches in the imports mix.

Within "Modified" we have included some types of starches that have not been perfectly defined by Customs and that could need to fall into other categories (as pregelified, for example). Since the Argentine Harmonized Code does not provide data to clearly specify unmistakeably identifying the product, we have been forced to include this item under "Modified", even though it does not belong there. This explains, in part why there is a steady increase in income for the category "Modified Starches".
