Once
Glucovil had consolidated its firm base by the production of
sugar, paper and alcohol, the company moved into the corn
wet milling industry in Argentina in 1982. During that year
Glucovil was founded as the Ledesma company destined to produce
Fructose and Glucose syrups during this first stage of development.
After
15 years new product lines were introduced and control systems
modernized towards transforming Glucovil into one of the most
modern corn wet milling plants in Argentina.
Its
industrial plant currently has a wet milling capacity of 180,000
tons a year.
Glucovil's
corn wet milling plant located at Villa Mercedes in the province
of San Luis produces the following specialized products:
-
High Maltose Syrup: this product is mainly used in
the brewing industry.
- Corn
Germ: with its high oil content, this product is widely
used in the oil industry for manufacturing corn oil.
